In this dashcam installation example photo gallery, we share the completed installation pictures of the cloud-capable, dual-lens, dual Full HD 1080p BlackVue DR750S-2CH-Truck dashcam, along with and Power Magic Pro hardwire kit in a Ford F450 Super Duty truck.
This installation was performed by The Dashcam Store™ technicians in Austin, Texas. Thank you again Texas Heavy Haul for letting us outfit your new tow rig!
The heavy duty vehicle now protected with the "Dashcam Defense": 2017 Ford F450 Super Duty
The BlackVue DR750S-2CH-Truck is the ideal solution for this heavy hauling pickup truck. The front camera monitors the view in front of the truck while the weatherproof exterior rear camera catches all the activity behind, including when towing a trailer.
At nearly 23 feet from nose to tail, the Ford F450 Super Duty is an imposing beast on the road, as you can see here, it barely fits in our installation bay.
At the customer's request, we have installed the front camera of the DR750S-2CH-Truck system slightly higher next to the rear-view mirror assembly. This way it will not interfere with the toll pass placement.
This is a good demonstration that every installation is different, and that we always do our best to accommodate a client's request. More on that topic to follow below.
Looking through the open passenger's side door, we can see the true positioning of the DR750S-2CH-Truck front camera. The lower edge of the camera is just about even with the lower edge of the rear mirror assembly. Even positioned here the camera does not interfere with the driver's sight lines whatsoever.
Taking a step back, you can see how the front camera, even it the offset position, looks right at home with the rest of the cabin's interior.
We mentioned earlier, our customer had specific requirements for our installation team.
Our client wanted the exterior camera to be offset on the bed wall of the truck. They want to make sure that had a camera lens pointing down the blind side of the trailers that were being hauled, to monitor for other drivers that may side-swipe the trailer being towed (or alledge something similar).
If you cannot spot the exterior camera we will highlight it in the following image.
Moving closer to show the exact custom placement of the waterproof rear-facing camera of the DR750S-2CH-Truck system.
Here you see directly down the side of the truck (looking back), and in the next photo we show you directional diagram of the rear-facing camera coverage.
This F450 is used to haul trailered freight, vehicles, construction equipment, heavy machinery and oilfield gear. You can see the fifth wheel hitch in this picture. So a key factor to out clients was the offset positioning of the rear camera.
A closeup of the rear-facing camera shows the camera lens surrounded by the infrared LEDs, which help to illuminate the scene when it is dark outside. The DR750S-2CH-Truck is also set to record movement/motion in "parking mode", so it's like a security surveillance system for your vehicle.
This picture gives you a good view of the hauling hitch used by our customers. Now we do admit, we have never positioned a DR750S exterior camera on the bed wall of a truck before. But when you think about it, the owners wanted that Dashcam Defense in place everytime they took to the road. Since everytime this truck makes a run it is pulling a different trailer, this rear camera positioning solves the problem of flexibility in what you're trailering.
Can you see the camera? No worries, we highlight it in the second image.
Here is an outside "bumper to bumper" view of this heavy hauler Ford F450. You can barely see the profile of the BlackVue truck external camera on the bedrail. It is a beautiful and powerful vehicle, now further protected with the DR750S-2CH-Truck dashcam.
The next three images are screen captures of the BlackVue smartphone app, in Live View mode. The first image is out the front windshield, the "drivers view" if you will. The second two images show you the view from the exterior camera.
Please note: the following images are reduced resolution "live" screen captures from the BlackVue smartphone app (connected via direct WiFi). They are intended to show you the views of the front and rear cameras, but they do not represent the full HD image quality you will get when looking at your actual downloaded footage on a computer or downloaded files from within the BlackVue app.
